Frequently Asked Questions

  • As a behaviourist, I focus on behaviour modification for issues such as reactivity, anxiety & more complex behaviours. I also offer 1-2-1 training for less complex training needs, such as loose lead walking, general manners & setting your dog up for success. All of my work in deeply rooted in force-free learning, which is science backed & actually works!

  • Getting started is simple, complete a pre-assessment form (which I will have sent via email), and I’ll get back to you with my availability for either an Initial Assessment or Consultation.

  • Initial Assessments are a one hour session that’s held at your home - for the most natural environment for you and your dog. During the session, we will have a big chat about your current issues or things you would like support with. I’ll make notes throughout, and conduct a series of observational checkers. Following the session, you’ll recieve a basic overview of the assessment, vet liaison (if needed), recommendations, and the ability to become a client. Initial Assessments are £85.

Depending on the type of Consultation package you choose, you have a few different options. In summary, they are the step up from an Initial Assessment, and you will recieve all of the above, with a thorough behaviour report, a plan going forward, and support one month post Consult. More information on the types of Consultations can be found here.

  • I have clients all over the country, some prefer online, but many prefer in person. I’m based in Beverley, East Yorkshire - so mileage is calculated in a 10 mile radius, and is charged at .50p per mile outside of this.

  • The majority of my clients are either rescue dogs or have previously been with an aversive trainer - to put it simply, I deal with a lot of traumatised dogs & owners (lots of people cry during assessments as I’m often the ‘last chance’, so please don’t worry!).

The most frequent comments I get aren’t about control, discipline, or being an alpha. But more about how connected my clients feel to their dogs, how R+ training isn’t about being a ‘cheese tosser’ and how incredibly nuanced it really is, & how much more confident they feel about moving through real life situations; both at home and on walks. Feel free to have a look at my testimonials (pinky promise I’m not just bigging myself up!)
